About

A small senior team that stays after launch.

Livid was started by engineers who were tired of watching good systems get handed off to nobody. We design, build, and then keep running the software we deliver.

Why "Livid"

Livid is the color of a bruise and of a storm sky. It is also how most people feel about the software they are forced to use at work.

We named the company after the problem because the problem is the point. Clunky portals, brittle integrations, a "temporary" spreadsheet that is now seven years old. Our job is to replace that feeling with something that just works and keeps working.

Our clients are operators: logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, and finance. They do not want a technology partner. They want their business to run better and someone accountable when it does not.

From the founder

Accountable to you, personally.

Livid is owner-led. The person who scopes your project is the person who answers the phone when something breaks.

I started Livid because too many businesses were paying for software that nobody stood behind. Vendors rotated staff, documentation went stale, and the system everyone depended on became something everyone was afraid to touch.

We do it differently. Small team, senior people, and a direct line to me on every engagement. If you want to talk before you commit to anything, call. That number on the Contact page reaches a person.

What we believe

Three rules that shape every estimate, architecture, and code review we do.

Keep what works.

Replacing a system is the most expensive option and usually the wrong one. We extend and integrate before we rebuild, and we say so even when a rebuild would pay us more.

Boring is a feature.

We use proven tools, write tests, and avoid cleverness. The goal is software your next vendor, or your own hire, can understand without us in the room.

Own the outcome.

Every system ships with monitoring, documentation, and a named engineer. If it breaks at 2am, you know who answers.

What we work in

We pick the tool that fits the job and the team that will inherit it. These are the ones we reach for most, and have run in production.

How we engage

Clear terms, small team, no surprises.

Scope

Fixed-scope or retainer

Builds are scoped in phases with a fixed price per phase. Advisory and maintenance run on a monthly retainer you can cancel with 30 days' notice.

Team

Two to four people

The engineers who scope your project are the engineers who build it. No handoff.

Cadence

Weekly written status

Every Friday: what shipped, what is next, what we need from you, and whether we are on budget.

Ownership

Everything is yours

Code, repositories, cloud accounts, and documentation are in your name from day one.

Work with us.

We take on a small number of new clients each quarter so we can stay close to every one.
